Baked Ham
Baked Ham
1/2 fully-cooked ham, about 8-10 pounds.
Glaze
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup lemon juice
1 cup orange or pineapple juice
2 tablespoons cloves (omit if using spiral cut ham)
Remove the ham from the refrigerator a couple of hours before baking so that it can get closer to room temperature.
Preheat oven to 325°F. Place ham, fattier side up, in a roasting pan.
Place the cloves two inches apart around the top and sides of the ham.
Prepare glaze by stirring all ingredients together in a medium saucepan. Cook a few minutes on moderate heat, until honey and brown sugar are dissolved and all ingredients are well combined.
Pour glaze all over ham and baste a couple of times. Cover and bake for about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Baste the ham a few times during cooking. Remove from the oven and baste again. Let rest for 15 minutes before serving.
